A better year
posted on 08 February 11
Had an exciting last half of 2010 and my blogging skills were
found wanting. Probably this is the reason I have never kept a
diary! Despite this I have kept on taking photos and having just
gone through our second spectacular bout of white weather within a
year I am now armed with many potential seasonal greetings cards.
Perhaps this is my diary as I take pictures most days and when I
look through them I can take myself back days, months and
years.
On a more important note I appeared as Perks in the Railway
Children which was fun. We came close to cancelling the show as we
had to call off several rehearsals due to the snow but true to the
old maxim the show must and did go on to several full houses.
Alongside this I have also been travelling with Shontal (www.shontal.co.uk)
and performing in a variety of venues and I'm now involved in the
fundraising side of things which should be interesting given the
current financial situation, the irony being that just as this sort
of thing is needed funding will become tight. Already a few of our
government supported partner organisations have had their funding
withdrawn.
Now I'm gearing up for an even more exciting 2011. I think for
many of us it will be a year of uncertainty which also means it
will be a year full of opportunities so let's try and grab them. In
the meantime I am going to take advantage of the low sun we get
this time of year which can offer some beautiful effects blasting
through the trees and outlining the Northumbrian hills.
Good luck for this coming year and let's all make it a better
one than we are being told it's going to be!
