Spring Sprung
posted on 22 March 11
Spring really does seem to be pushing its way forward around
Northumberland. After a little cold and miserable weather mixed
with some cold but bright and spectacular days we are finally
having some warm days. Just in time I have chopped a few branches
from trees and pruned things around the garden. It has been
difficult to find the time as I have also been travelling
Northumberland in search of new and exciting things to photograph.
It's not a difficult task as this area has so much going on from
some of the most beautiful hill walks to the best beaches in
the UK with fascinating rock formations and miles of unspoilt sand.
If you check out my portfolio section you can see a few of those
pictures. The one I have included with this report shows a view
encountered on a five mile wander with the family at Thrunton
Woods.
In addition to stills photography I have also been working with
musicians Landermason on a video to help promote their latest song
and as it's a happy little number about the weather and weathermen
we were also joined by BBC weatherman Paul Mooney. Unusually for me
I was operating the camera and directing as my camera can turn out
a good quality film. It's still in the editing stage but I will
keep you informed. I have also been working in front of the camera
with a part in a feature length film called Stories. I was working
for Freed Spirit productions and the director has plans for this to
become a TV pilot. Fingers crossed.
As well as walking and filming I have done some product
photography for a watch collectors website and learned about makers
whose names I had never come across before and what collectors need
to know from the online photograph. It is not a subject I am
knowledgeable in but working with enthusiasts we soon got the
images they required.
Other than all of the fun that can be had photographing aspects
of Northumberland I have finally found time to do things with
facebook and Colehouse Photography now has a page. It's pretty dull
stuff at the moment but I shall try to get the hang of it. I also
have a personal page and I have opened an account with You Tube and
uploaded a couple of videos just to test it all out. If you're
interested type 'we love bananas' into You Tube and look for a song
by Nel. My daughter sat at the table aged 6 and invented her own
song to the tune of 'We are the Champions'.
I think that's enough from me for now.
