Girls from Shatila refugee camp performed a fable written by Peter Mortimer.

when Peter started working on a play based on a fable he had written they barely spoke english

from their home in Shatila refugee camp this amazing young cast toured the North East of England culminating with a packed performance at the Sage

after the show the girls entertained the audience to dancing from their own country and impromptu acrobatics

This Cullercoats based writer lived for two months in Shatila refugee camp, Beruit, where he produced the play and then wrote a book about his experiences available from Five Leaves publications. He then set about raising funds to bring some of the children with whom he had worked on a theatre tour of the North East of England and Northumberland.
